College Football- This has been without a doubt one of the biggest weeks in Ncaa football history when you consider off season decisions. Nebraska, Colorado and Boise state have already switched conferences, Nebraska to the Big 10, Colorado to the Pac 10, and Boise state to the Mountain West. Many people may be questioning why Boise state would go to the Mountain west after Boise repeatedly finds themselves in late season drama regarding the strength of their schedule. The Mountain west is by far done. The Mountain west is hoping to land Big 12 schools Missouri, Kansas, and Kansas state by next week. Adding these schools would without a doubt step up the competition in a somewhat questionable conference. Other Big 12 schools including Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M look into changing conferences in the upcoming days. Stay posted to theROOTofsports for the latest news on the Big 12 conference.
UFC 115- Ufc 115 took place Saturday night in sold out Vancouver. The night was ended in Shock as Rich Franklin knocked out Chuck Liddell cold late in the first round. In a fight in which many fans say it was Liddell's last, Franklin and Liddell exchanged huge punched and kicks, one of which broke Rich Franklin's arm. Even with the broken arm Chuck Liddell could int avoid being finished early. Possibly the most exciting fight of the night included Carlos Condit against undefeated Rory Macdonald. Condit and M
acdonald exchanged quick and accurate blows in all 3 rounds. After the second round Macdonald seemed to have control after causing most damage. Before the 3rd round began you could hear the corner of Condit screaming, " you have to go and take this fight! you have to finish this!". Well thats exactly what Condit did. Condit finished the fight with a technical knockout, 10 seconds before the ending bell. Also on Saturday Evan Dunham remained unbeaten against Tyson Griffin, Ben Rothwell won a decision over Gilbert Yvel and Mirko Cro Cop surprised the Ufc nation by submitting Patrick Barry in the 3rd round. The Knockout of the night bonus went to Rich Franklin, Submission bonus to Mirko Cro Cop and the fight of the night bonus went to none other then Carlos Condit and Rory Macdonald

Nascar- Denny Hamlin wins his second race in a row Sunday at Michigan International speedway. The Race was Dominated early by Kurt Busch, but as race changes were made Denny Hamlin found a familiar place on the race track, First place. Denny Hamlin has dominated the series the last month or so along with Kurt Busch. Michigan's race involved many long green flag runs and not to much action. This goes to show how strong Denny really was. He drove away from the field every time the green flag flew. One incident that occurred on track was when Red Bull teammates collided taking out both drivers Scott Speed and Casey Mears. Scott Speed was running in the mid 30's when Mears pulled along side and spun speed around. Speed was not to happy about the situation saying, " What the hell?, Were running in the back like crap and he wants to wreck us? I dont get that". This has been the 4th incident this year involving teammates. Drivers like Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhart Jr. and A.J Allmendinger had great finishes Sunday finishing 5th,7th,and 11th.
